Meet Mia

Born and raised in South Carolina, I’ve always appreciated a good pound cake. Once I was old enough to make them myself I enjoyed baking them. One day early in 2019 I realized that the best days were the ones that included a pound cake in the oven. It’s relaxing to make, smells good while it bakes and, probably the best part, is a great social gathering point once it’s done. Even better, a pound cake works for all occasions, happy and trying.  Having friends in for the weekend? Having a party? Need a thank you gift? Having a birthday? Joining friends for a house party? Know a friend who’s having a bad day? Or, are you having a bad day? Is it a random Tuesday? Planning some other life adventure? For all of these, you need a pound cake.

 

When I realized that the best days were the ones that included a pound cake in the oven, I decided that for 2019 I would bake a pound cake every week. I decided that in January. By February I began to branch out into creative flavors and pester my friends and neighbors to taste and comment on them. By early March the idea of Pound Cake Adventures was developing. By the summer I had a business license. A week hasn't gone by since that hasn’t included pound cake. It’s hard to beat doing something that makes you and those around you smile.
